Happy Labor Day Kenyaโs Workers!
Today we do not celebrate empty words; we honor the hands that build this nation while being denied its wealth. We stand with the workers who rise before dawn, who sweat under punishing conditions, who endure unbearable weather, starvation wages, and a collapsing economy that rewards the few and exploits the many.
From factories to farms, from bodaboda stages to construction sites, from offices to informal settlements โ you carry this country on your backs while systems meant to protect you crumble. Social security has become a cruel illusion -from SHA to NSSF- failing the very people it was meant to secure.
What kind of nation thrives while its workers suffer?
This is not just a day of recognition, no, it is a day of resistance.
We reject poverty wages.
We reject unsafe working conditions.
We reject a system that sacrifices human dignity for profit.
The struggle of the worker is the struggle for justice itself. And history has shown us one truth: no ruling class has ever handed over dignity willingly-it must be demanded, organized for, and won.
So today, we do more than remember we organize.
We do more than endure we resist.
We do more than hope we fight.
Better must come. And it will not come from above it will rise from the collective power of the working class.
