The Social Justice Movement Decides!

The Election Outcome!

The decision making organ of The Social Justice Movement, The Social Justice Centers Working Group (SJCWG), held its first election under its new constitution on 26/09/2023, at Dandora Community Justice Centre (DCJC) as from 2pm to 5pm.  The purpose of the election was to put in office a new steering committee that will offer leadership and oversee the implementation of various decisions made by The Social Justice Centers Working Group.

The Election Committee

The election was overseen by the following members of the Election Committee Ad hoc that was appointed by the working group on 12/09/2023:

  • Hadija Golo
  • Stephano Otieno

Elected leadership 

The following leaders were elected for various positions:

  1. Co-Convener

  • Secretary
  • Diana Mwaniki  
  • Resource Mobilization 
  • Antony Kimani
  • Communications Person 
  • Owalla Ochieng 

Voting Procedure

The voting process was conducted as follows:

Every center and each committee forming part of the working group was entitled to one vote 

  • Eligible members were required to present themselves in person before casting their votes.
  • Ballots were distributed, and voters marked their choices privately.
  • Votes were collected and counted by the Election Ad hoc Committee members.
  • The entire voting process was conducted in a fair and transparent manner.

The election was conducted smoothly and in accordance with the social justice Movement bylaws and regulations. The elected candidates will assume their respective positions as per the organization’s rules.

We would like to express our gratitude to all members who participated in the election process and to the Election Committee for their dedication and impartiality in ensuring a fair and transparent election.
